Pictures & Stories
Our experienced truckers have been traveling the roads of Europe and distant lands for many years. They have many stories to tell.
We mastered some curious, funny, and even dangerous situations. Here's a short excerpt.

1975 A harmless tire failure with dramatic consequences on the way to Tehran.
The truck was held up by highwaymen. Our driver was received kindly, but only with the assistance of the German embassy was he allowed to begin his journey home four weeks later, along with the furniture truck. One hundred cotton packing blankets and various carpentry tools remained on site. Nevertheless, we were still frequently in Iran/Iraq. For the long distances, the trucks and trailers were equipped with auxiliary tanks. While driving, the driver could pump diesel from the trailer into the truck's tank. The cabs and lighting systems were also fitted with removable grilles, as they were frequently forced to stop by stones thrown at them. Sand rails were an important and useful accessory in case the trucks got stuck.
Mr. Cramer Sr. preferred to use Magirus vehicles for this type of long-distance transport, as they were air-cooled and required little maintenance. Six Magirus D series trucks were part of his fleet.
The rest of the fleet consisted of Mercedes and MAN vehicles, each in the 16-18 ton configuration.
1971 Evasive maneuver in Turkey
On a narrow and unsecured road towards Istanbul, our vehicle went off the road at night due to a donkey that broke free and tipped into a ditch. Fortunately, the driver was unharmed.
In 2010, we moved to Sardinia with a beautiful view of the sea.
Besides work, our drivers also get to see beautiful places. Here they are working in Sardinia.
